Most large ticket items that we purchase today come with a warranty.  In some cases we can chose to buy additional warranty for a product.  This can be for products like a new car, flat screen TV, refrigerator or a laptop.
Another type of warranty is when we have some kind of work done.  This could be getting the roof replaced, a new fence put in or the car fixed.  The contractor or shop that does the work guarantees their work. A warranty anywhere from a month to many years is given. If something goes wrong during that time we should be able to get it fixed or replaced.
But these warranties are only useful if we can keep track of them and find them when we need them. A warranty has limits on what it will cover and in some cases the warranty papers must be shown when it is used.  So it is important to have the warranty papers available. If the warranty is not available you may have to pay to get the item fixed or be unable to get it fixed or replaced.  An easy way to ensure that warranty papers are not lost is to scan and store them online. That eliminates the risk of papers being misplaced, trashed or eaten by the dog.  When you need them they are available at your fingertips. Though your home computer or laptop is one option an online storage service is another option that should be considered as it provides easy accessibility from anywhere and security from fire, theft and machine malfunction.

To get started, register on Finovera, create a separate folder for “warranties” and upload the scanned copies of your warranties. Ben Bendixson from Des Moines Iowa has relied on Finovera for more than a year. He stores all his papers in his Finovera account. Ben says the best part is the freedom from worrying and knowing that he can find the papers when he needs them.  He loves to tell the story of the extended warranty on his car.  He purchased the warranty when he bought his used car from a dealer.  When one of the doors stopped closing properly he went to the dealer and asked him to fix it.  The dealer was giving him a hard time, so he took the scanned copy of his warranty from Finovera and emailed it to the car manufacturer.  In a few days he was able to get his car fixed!  No hassles and no having to run around trying to prove that he had bought the extended warranty.
How do you store your ‘guarantee & warranty’ papers? Do you think that they are safe and easily accessible?  Give Finovera a shot, and never worry about losing your papers. It’s absolutely free, and always will be.
